Mid State Junior Football Conference Code of Conduct

Adult Offences & Penalties (coaches and spectators)

Fighting is prohibited. If any laws are broken, the situation may be handled by the police, however, irrespective of police involvement, the coach and/or spectator will also be required to leave the facilities and be prohibited from attending Mid State Junior Football Conference functions for one year.

Misconduct shall be defined by the Mid State Junior Football Conference to include, but not be limited to, verbal and/or physical actions, which appear to be intended to disrupt or provoke a physical response. Misconduct such as to reflect poorly on the Mid State Junior Football Conference, individual teams, Players, Coaches, Board Members, Parents, other supporters and the community at large will result in the subject(s) involved being given a verbal warning for the first incident and if the conduct continues, be required to leave the facilities and be prohibited from attending the next scheduled Mid State Junior Football Conference game and/or function. Repeated misconduct at future Mid State Junior Football Conference functions shall not require a warning be given and may result in the subject(s) being prohibited from coming to any Mid State Junior Football Conference games or functions for the remainder of that season.

Endangerment shall be defined to include any action from which one could reasonably concluded that there was a significant likelihood or injury and is prohibited. Such actions will result in the subject(s) involved being given a verbal warning for the first incident and if the conduct continues, be required to leave the facilities and be prohibited from attending the next scheduled Mid State Junior Football Conference game and/or function. Repeated acts of endangerment at future Mid State Junior Football Conference functions shall not require a warning by given and may result in the subject(s) being prohibited from coming to an such games or functions for the remainder of that season.

Ejection from a game by an official shall result in the subject leaving the facilities that day and being prohibited from attending the next game. Repeated ejections shall result in the subject being prohibited form attending any Mid State Junior Football Conference Functions for the remainder of that season.

Teams will be allowed to bring coolers into conference facilities for players and cheerleaders only. These coolers need to be located on the sidelines with the players. Spectators are not allowed to bring coolers into any conference facility. Pets: No pets allowed in any conference facility.

Coaches not adhering to program standards, or not adhering to good sportsmanship principles or encouraging players to display poor sportsmanship, will be subject to action by the coaches local organization, to include possible removal from their coaching position.

Youth Offences & Penalties (participants)

Immediate ejection from game and a one game suspension for all participants of the fight.

As defined above, or further defined by Head Coach. Verbal warning for first offense, One game suspension for 2nd offense occurring on the same day, 2 game suspension for 3rd offense (after having been issued a warning that same date) & expulsion for 4th offense

Players will be required to attend practice. There will be no excused absences from practice. A player that misses two practices during the week preceding a game will not be permitted to play during that week’s game. Unexcused absence from Game: Suspension for next game.

Participants representing the organization shall do so in a manner consistent with Head Coaches, the Board’s and the Conference’s guidance and direction. Violations of these directions shall result in fair and consistent penalty assigned by the participant’s head coach or the Board.

*All formal discipline shall be reported to the board in writing, briefly describing the offense and the discipline administered.

The Mid State Junior Football Conference Board Members shall ensure that the rules are fairly and consistently enforced. The board members shall notify the President, in writing, of any alleged infractions, as deemed necessary.  The parents, coaches or other volunteers are also encouraged to notify the board of infractions, in writing.  The President shall then investigate the alleged infraction, if deemed necessary, and ensure that all board members are aware of the alleged infraction.  The secretary shall retain records of alleged infractions reported to the board.  The President shall call a meeting of the board, if deemed necessary.  The Mid State Junior Football Conference Board has the authority, if extenuating circumstances exist, to modify the penalties listed above.  The board must vote in favor of the modification by two-thirds majority.
